September 13, 2011 12 comments

I had problem when I was using Japanese keyboard in Windows 7 (English version) .  with the default keyboard setting, the mapping key was not correct. The following picture are Japanese keyboard layout and English keyboard layout (qwerty).

So, when i wanted to type“, it would show “@”.  To solve this problem :

1. Go to Control Panel > Keyboard

2. Change to “Hardware” Tab, Click “Properties” button

3. Click “Change Settings” button

4. Change to “Driver” Tab, then click “Update Driver…”

5. Then Select “Browse my computer for driver software”

6. Select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”

7. Uncheck “Show compatible hardware”, and select “Japanese PS/2 Keyboard (106/109) Key” model. and then click “Next”. Perhaps you will get warning message, but just ignore it.

8. The change won’t take effect until  you restart the computer.

9. Restart your computer

10. Test
